Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was constructed by the Port of Seattle in 1944 but wasn't used commercially until after WWII had ended. The airport received its second runway after the first one had to be lengthened twice; the first time in order to serve jets and again to handle increased traffic for the Century 21 World's Fair hosted by Seattle in 1962. Today Sea-Tac Airport is a hub for Alaska Airlines and also an international gateway for Northwest Airlines.
